The Costa Dorada consists of around 60 beaches of all types: the fine sand and shallow waters of Salou and La Pineda, the cliffs and rocks of Torredembarra, the small bays of Mont-Roig del Camp and Miami Platja, and those geared to nudists such as Torn beach in L’Hospitalet de l’Infant.

Many of these beaches have been awarded the blue flag of the Foundation for Environmental Education in Europe in acknowledgement of the quality of their water and sand, in addition to the services (ease of access, first aid, surveillance, periodic clean-up) provided to tourists. It should be also be mentioned that the towns of Salou, Cambrils and Calafell have been certified as family tourist destinations by the Generalitat of Catalonia.
