The Golden Taurus Park Resort Hotel is located right on the 2,820-metre long, 40-metre wide Pineda de Mar beach - one of the biggest on the Maresme and Barcelona coastline. This beach is equipped with extensive infrastructure including pedestrian and cycle paths, showers, drinking water fountains, bicycle racks and several bars.
With a history dating back to the times of the Roman occupation, Pineda boasts a rich historic and architectural heritage, including the ruins of the Can Cua aqueduct (2nd century A.C.) the Montpalau castle (11th century), the parochial church of Santa María (17th century) and the Can Cànoves farmhouse (14th century), among others. Furthermore, the natural surroundings of the hills of the Montnegre and Corredor natural park are ideal for exploring on foot or by bike.
The centre of the Catalan capital, one of Spain's major tourist venues, is a little more than an hour away from the Cercanías Renfe/Rodalies Catalunya Pineda station. The expiatory church of Sagrada Familia, the La Boqueria market, Park Güell and the Camp Nou (the home of Barcelona F.C.) are just a few of the numerous attractions the city has to offer. Other points of interest within a 100-km radius of Barcelona include the monastery of Montserrat, built on the spectacular mountain of the same name; the city of Girona with its majestic castle and historic Jewish district; the Mar i Murtra botanical gardens in Blanes and the Marineland (Palafolls) and Water World (Lloret de Mar) water parks, among many other attractions.
