The Ruiz family gathered around the table, enjoying a delicious buffet. The atmosphere was warm and familial, but an excited energy hung in the air. The conversation started around summer and the whole family’s wish for the holidays to arrive so they could enjoy the sunny weather and the beach. But the most exciting topic, one that always stirred emotions and expectations, was where they would spend their two weeks of summer vacation.
Manuel, the father, was enthusiastic about his ideal choice: a beachfront hotel in Salou, a popular destination on the Costa Daurada, known for its lively family atmosphere. However, the mother, with an enigmatic smile, proposed an alternative that promised to be even more special: a charming, full-board hotel by the sea on the Costa Brava. A pilates friend of hers had recommended the Golden Mar Menuda in Tossa de Mar, a hotel with direct access to the beach and stunning views for breakfast and dinner by the sea.
For the children, both destinations sounded amazing. They looked at their parents with wide eyes and curiosity, eagerly listening to the possibilities. They were happiest building sandcastles and jumping in the waves.
The mother, with a soft but firm voice, began to explain why she preferred staying at the Costa Brava. “Imagine waking up every morning to the sound of the waves and seagulls flying over the sea. Having breakfast on a terrace with beach views, exploring secluded coves with crystal-clear waters, and taking walks along natural paths.”
The father, though initially a little disappointed, listened attentively to his wife’s words. The Costa Brava was a magical place, a peaceful retreat where the family could escape the stress of daily life and reconnect with each other. But Manuel preferred the busy atmosphere of Salou during the summer months.
The children, for their part, were excited about both options. The idea of Salou, with its amusement parks and activities for kids and teens, sounded very appealing. But the Costa Brava, with its air of mystery and adventure, was also very tempting.
“We want to go to Salou and the Costa Brava!” exclaimed the youngest child, full of energy. “We can spend one week in Salou and another in the Costa Brava!” added Julia, with a mischievous smile. Deep down, she was hoping to be near Barcelona.
The parents, moved by the excitement of their children, exchanged knowing looks. They knew the decision wouldn’t be easy, but they also knew that the most important thing was being together in a good beachfront hotel.
Later that night, as the children prepared for bed, the parents sat on the couch with a glass of wine in hand, and the father asked with a joyful face, “What should we do?” “The kids are right,” Laura replied with a smile. “We can go to both places! This year to Salou, and next year to the Costa Brava.”
The mother, with a tender gaze, took Manuel’s hand and whispered, “What matters isn’t the destination, but the journey we take together with the kids. What truly matters is enjoying every moment to the fullest and creating memories that will stay with us forever.”
The father nodded, moved by his wife’s words. He knew she was right: the most important thing was the happiness of their family. Together, they decided they would make their children’s dreams come true. The summer holidays were getting closer, and the family was preparing for a unique experience. Manuel promised to review the information about the Golden Mar Menuda in Tossa de Mar, and Laura agreed to carefully check out the pictures and reviews of the Golden Donaire Beach in Salou.
