In search of the perfect deal for your summer holidays

Hello lovers of sunshine and sea breezes! Pep here, your expert travel consultant! These past few weeks my inbox has been overflowing and my phone hasn't stopped ringing. The words I hear most are hotels, summer holidays, offers, bargains and deals. We all want the same thing: to unwind, find a great beach, enjoy a swimming pool and, why not, make the most of a fantastic buffet.

Today I'd like to share some of the conversations I've had. If you're looking for the best destinations on the Catalan coast, take note.

"Hi Pep! I'm Marta. I need your travel advice. My two children are climbing the walls and I need to find something for our summer holidays. We're looking for great deals in Costa Brava or Costa de Barcelona, ideally in Tossa de Mar or somewhere close to Barcelona by the beach, but it has to be a place where the kids won't get bored. The first option is Golden Taurus Aquapark. It's amazing because it has its own water park and the slides can be enjoyed free of charge every day. The children will be exhausted by bedtime!

The second option is on the Costa Brava: Golden Bahía de Tossa & Spa. It has several swimming pools, including one with a pirate ship that younger children absolutely love, plus plenty of free activities every day. Both hotels offer excellent deals if you book a little in advance.

Great family hotel deals by the beach

Hello! Salou is one of the most vibrant summer holiday destinations on the Costa Dorada and there are always excellent deals available.

If you want to stay by the beach and enjoy activities for both children and adults, I know a fantastic place. It's a real bargain because it's right on the beachfront and if you book now, you can find incredible sea-view rooms at a great price. The hotel is Golden Donaire Beach.

The second option is Golden Port Salou, especially if gastronomy and children's activities are your priorities. This year they have added new children's play areas and the hotel is famous for its high-quality buffet.

My final recommendation is Golden Avenida Family Suites, located near the centre of Salou. It offers plenty of sports and play areas, and families are loving the new inflatable bubble attraction in the pool.
