In the Ruiz family attic, Manuel was looking through the shelves for the holiday album from his childhood while his wife Laura did her workout routine. Suddenly, they started talking about the eternal dilemma of where to spend next summer’s holidays. The children, Julia and Lucas, were in their rooms supposedly doing their summer homework.
“Darling, don’t you think it’s time for a change?” Laura exclaimed, with that seductive smile Manuel knew so well. “This year, I suggest something different. Something magical… just for the two of us.”

Intrigued, Manuel repeated:
“Magical? Sounds expensive. You know I’m happy with a good breakfast and a walk along the shore.”

Laura smiled again, confident she had already won the argument.
“Exactly. Imagine this: waking up every morning to the sound of the waves, the smell of the sea... A charming hotel, Manuel. Not just any hotel, but one of those hidden gems on the Costa Brava. I’ve been researching and I found a hotel with excellent reviews that fits exactly what we’re looking for. It would be the perfect hotel for Mr. and Mrs. Ruiz.”

She paused strategically, letting the image settle in her husband’s mind.
“Think of breakfast with a sea view... not the usual buffet, but a quality one, with fresh local products, toast with ham, freshly squeezed juices, real coffee... And all of this, just you and me, without the kids.”

Holidays in a hotel with sea views

Now Manuel was paying more attention.
“Sea views, you say...”

“Exactly!” Laura exclaimed, seizing the moment. “And not only that. Imagine walking straight down from the room and being just steps away from the sea, no streets to cross. I really liked the Golden Mar Menuda hotel, a charming beachfront hotel, Manuel. There, on the Costa Brava, we could wake up and enjoy that royal breakfast, and then go for a walk on the sand, barefoot, with the sea breeze on our faces. Isn’t that your dream, Manuel?”

He nodded slowly, unable to deny that he liked the idea, as if he were already picturing the scene.

“And the Costa Brava...” Laura continued, her voice softer and dreamier. “Its hidden coves and crystal-clear waters. The Golden Mar Menuda hotel is set in one of those coves, with that turquoise blue that takes your breath away. It would be like having our own private beach.”

Silence filled the room, broken only by a bird on the roof. Manuel looked at her, a genuine smile forming on his face.
“A charming hotel... on the Costa Brava... overlooking a cove... and that breakfast...” he repeated, savoring every word.

Laura reached for his hand.
“It would be a break for the two of us, Manuel. A place to enjoy beauty and reconnect, something we truly need.”

He squeezed her hand.
“You’ve convinced me, Laura. A charming hotel on the Costa Brava. I think this time... you’ve hit the mark.”

Laura and Manuel were already, in their minds, walking along Cala Mar Menuda, the Costa Brava sun warming their faces, and the scent of the sea in every breath.
