I will always fondly remember the yearly ritual with my family: searching with my parents and siblings for the perfect summer holiday destination in Spain. We all wanted to find the best hotel, but each of us had different tastes and preferences. While every family member enthusiastically defended their choice, the excitement and anticipation of going on vacation blended together.
In the small Ruiz kitchen, the May sun shone on the table, covered with laptops, travel brochures, and countless dreams waiting to come true.
Manuel, the father, was the first to present his proposal: “I found a hotel in Salou, right on the beachfront of the Costa Dorada. The Golden Donaire Beach Hotel has direct beach access, and the main pool offers stunning beachside views. Imagine Lucas playing in the sand while we enjoy a cocktail on the sun loungers at the bar!”
Lucas, his seven-year-old son, looked up from his tablet. “Yes, Dad! I want to go there! Play on the beach!” His enthusiasm was contagious, and he could already picture himself running towards the shore, leaving his footprints in the sand.
Laura, the mother, with a touch of nostalgia in her voice, didn’t seem very convinced: “That sounds nice, but I’d rather spend the holidays on the Costa Brava. I found the Golden Mar Menuda Hotel in Tossa de Mar; it has breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. Plus, there’s a restaurant with a terrace where we could have dinner while listening to the waves. There are also hiking trails and hidden coves to explore.” Her eyes lit up at the thought of watching the sunset from the balcony.
A Family Hotel with a Water Park
“But, Mom,” interrupted Julia, the eldest daughter, fifteen years old and with many friends on social media, “the Barcelona Coast has everything we want. I found the perfect beach hotel close to Barcelona, called Golden Taurus Aquapark. It has multiple pools, a water park, and daily activities for everyone.” Her voice echoed with the excitement of a teenager eager for new experiences. “And let’s not forget the excursions! I want to see the Sagrada Familia and explore Park Güell in Barcelona,” Julia added.
Lucas, caught up in his sister’s enthusiasm, jumped in his chair. “Yes! I want a hotel with water slides! And games! Please!”
Laura, their mom, thought of finding a middle ground: “Maybe we can find a place with a bit of everything. A hotel near the beach with slides, sports activities, and pools, where we can also go on excursions,” she suggested while browsing the official Golden Hotels website on her phone.
Manuel, realizing that the search for the perfect hotel wasn’t ending anytime soon, suggested they revisit the summer holiday discussion over the weekend.
