The town of Tossa is a true open-air museum, where the prehistoric remains give way to a Roman Turissa, a medieval Tursa and a modern Tossa that first became a refuge for artists and intellectuals and later a generous host for tourists and visitors.
We especially recommend strolling through the streets and alleys inside the walled enclosure and going up to the Tossa Lighthouse, from where you can see magnificent views.
Outside the walls is the neighborhood of sa Roqueta, a traditional fishermen's neighborhood, the result of the first stage of expansion of the municipality during the s. XVI.

For all those travelers who want to make a weekend getaway or even a single day, this is the ideal place. The Costa Brava stretches from Blanes to the French border, therefore it is very important to be clear about what we want to see before we set off.
Throughout the entire Costa Brava there are 70 beaches where you can enjoy authentic beach days, whatever the month of the year. In addition, if you travel as a family, it is an ideal place since there are a large number of playgrounds for children, parks and marine reserves. A wide variety of things you have to do to spend wonderful days with your family.
But if we have to highlight an attribute of this area, it is its gastronomy. Each of the towns in this part of Catalonia has a multitude of restaurants, the vast majority of which are committed to traditional Mediterranean cuisine.
If you are one of those who like to visit charming and historic towns, you have chosen the best destination.
A trip to the Costa Brava offers much more than just enjoying its dreamy coves and paradise beaches. In this charismatic area are the most charming towns in Catalonia, where you can have lunch or dinner savoring authentic Catalan cuisine.
Apart from the historic town where we are located (Tossa de Mar), a visit to the neighboring towns on our coast is recommended, as the Costa Brava has countless beautiful towns. Some coastal and others not, many of them medieval with their cobbled streets and full of flowers. Some of them with castles and hundreds of years of history. But all of them with a very particular charm that will make you fall in love as soon as you step on them.
Calella de Palafrugell
La Escala and the ruins of Empúries
On the Costa Brava there are beaches of all kinds and for all tastes. We can find small coves and others larger, some difficult to access by land, ideal to enjoy your tranquility if you have a boat. There are also long beaches that allow us to enjoy sports such as windsurfing and seabed of great interest to diving enthusiasts, such as the natural reserves of Cap de Creus and the Medes Islands. In addition, in some of these coves and beaches you can also find bars and restaurants to enjoy traditional Catalan cuisine by the sea.
The territory that we know today as Costa Brava has been for centuries an area of passage and settlement for different peoples and cultures and the gateway to the Iberian Peninsula from Mediterranean Europe. If there were a ranking of points of cultural interest per square kilometer, the regions of Girona would surely occupy a very prominent place. Cultural experiences will surprise you here and there, starting with the historical footprint. Palaeolithic and Neolithic sites, remains of Iberian populations, Greco-Roman ruins, exceptional medieval witnesses with an outstanding presence of Romanesque art and a well-preserved exceptional Jewish legacy, and great works of Modernism.
Do not forget to also delve into the work of Salvador Dalí and other illustrious painters, such as those from the School of Olot. And, if we talk about popular culture, there is much to discover, with festivals and traditions deeply rooted in the people of this land.
The native cuisine of the Costa Brava has as its main singularity the combination of seafood with local products. The black rice with seafood and meat, the chicken with lobster or crayfish, the fish "suquet", the "alpargatas" (sea cucumbers), the famous prawns from Blanes and Palamós or the "spikes erizos" (sea urchins) are some of the most popular culinary specialties that have come out of this area of the Catalan coast.
Apart from going to one of the many restaurants in the area, a good way to get to know the typical cuisine of the Costa Brava is to visit any of the numerous promotional campaigns and gastronomic samples that are held throughout the year, such as those dedicated to to the "suquet" of fish in Blanes, the noodles to the casserole or the "Cima y Tumba" in Tossa de Mar, the prawn of Palamós and a long etcetera.
The regions of Girona are that too: leisure for all tastes. One day you find yourself screaming with excitement on a water park slide. The next day you enjoy a surprising concert in a magnificent auditorium and the next day you walk along the coast following a coastal path.
In the water parks of the Costa Brava it is impossible not to have fun. With water attractions for everyone, where you can soak up and have a good laugh. And without worries, in secure facilities. 100% fun guaranteed. Get tickets for Waterworld and Marineland from our website.
Walk, run, pedal, play, sail, parachute, dive, and, above all, experience the Costa Brava practicing what you like the most. Everything is always ready for you to come and enjoy your favorite sports. A good climate that allows activities throughout the year and the most unique natural settings you can imagine -from the high mountains to the sea.
Currently, this route is a beautiful path between the towns of Blanes and Portbou, suitable for almost all knees, and that allows you to combine buffoon trails, spectacular views and, why not, dives in idyllic coves.
One of the most spectacular parts of the entire coastal path is the one that runs between Sant Feliu de Guíxols and Begur. The walker will find himself admiring the blue of the sea while his steps raise the aroma of thyme and rosemary that grows between the rocks.
Although it is not a route of high difficulty, you must wear technical footwear for hiking.
From Tossa de Mar, the Camino de Ronda passes through beautiful coves and typical Mediterranean virgin pine forests until it reaches Sant Feliu de Guíxols to the north (21 km) through Cala Bona, Cala Pola or Cala Giverola, or to the south, direction Lloret de Mar (14 km) passing through Cala Codolar. Always marked with white and red stripes, the GR 92 coincides with the route of the Ardenya Route, a 98 km long circular route that links the various spaces and towns that make up the Ardenya Sillas massif.
