Guided Tour of One of Barcelona’s Most Iconic Buildings
Take a guided tour inside La Pedrera, the final masterpiece created by the renowned modernist architect Antoni Gaudí. Travel back in time with this guided visit and discover how a bourgeois family lived in Barcelona over 100 years ago.
ITINERARY:
We’ll start the guided tour at La Pedrera by exploring its impressive stone façade. The undulating shape of the façade, combined with the wrought iron railings, will remind you of a seabed filled with algae.
We’ll have the chance to walk through the neighbor's apartment, which will feel like a journey back in time. Your guide will explain how a bourgeois family lived in the early 20th century, as the house is fully decorated with period furniture. Pay attention to every detail—Gaudí even designed the doorknobs!
We’ll visit the two interior courtyards of La Pedrera: the Flower Courtyard, adorned with murals, and the Butterfly Courtyard, where the animal is beautifully represented.
We’ll walk through the impressive attic, known as the Whale Attic due to its shape, which gives the sensation of being inside a large living creature. Made up of over 270 catenary arches, it resembles a whale’s skeleton.
We won’t miss the Warriors’ Rooftop, offering stunning 360º views of Barcelona. This rooftop gets its name from the chimneys, which represent the warriors and guardians of La Pedrera.
