Mercat Solidari: An overwhelming success in support of social inclusion and environmental conservation

When we launched our Solidarity Market, we had no idea that it would be a resounding success. Over the course of three weekends, our team of volunteers sold second-hand clothes, books, jewelry, toys, and teddy bears, with all proceeds going to charities that support the employment and social integration of people with physical, mental, and sensory disabilities, as well as the conservation of biodiversity and the environment.

We want to thank all who contributed to this wonderful cause, giving his own objects, and those who had bought something on our market or directly giving money to the cause! We are proud to say that we have achieved a total of €1788!! The hole money raised during these days are going to be donated and divided equally to 3 different organizations and foundations that have been chosen by the employees of the Golden Hotels offices.

Entities with which we will collaborate:

· Astres Foundation (Santa Coloma de Farners)

The Astres Foundation is a non-profit organization where they work to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, borderline intelligence, mental illness and their families, making it possible to achieve the maximum degree of self-determination and self-management from a comprehensive, individualized and community approach.

· Terra i Cel Association (Canet de Mar)

The Associació Terra i Cel was created in 1993 with the aim of filling the gap in care that people with disabilities have when the centers they usually go to are closed for holidays and weekends.

It is a non-profit association and supports people with multiple disabilities in all areas of leisure in Alt Maresme.

· GEPEC-EdC (Reus)

The GEPEC-EdC, Group for the Study and Protection of the Catalan Ecosystems-Ecologists of Catalonia is a non-profit, defense, conservation and nature study association that takes special care in improving the environment of lands of the Ebro, Priorat, Conca de Barberà and Camp de Tarragona, although its legal scope is Europe.

All clothing and accessories that are not sold had been donated to CÁRITAS Pineda and Terra i Cel Foundation.

We are so grateful for the overwhelming response from our community, and we are already looking forward to our next Solidarity Market event. Thank you for helping us make a difference and we hope to see you next year with more solidarity :)
